Activity in Dandeli
Jungle safari
- Generally outside the monsoon months; timings set by the forest department
- Forest areas around Dandeli
- Usually a few hours
The forests around Dandeli are part of the Kali Tiger Reserve (formerly the Dandeli-Anshi reserve), home to a wide range of birds, deer, gaur and other wildlife. Safaris are typically early morning or late afternoon, when animals are most active.
Set expectations
A safari is a chance to experience the forest, not a guarantee of any particular sighting. Big cats are rarely seen; birdlife, deer and gaur are more common.
