Dandeli can be visited most of the year, but what you can do depends on the season — especially on the river.
October to February — the most popular time
After the monsoon the forest is lush, the weather is pleasant and river activities usually resume. Winter weekends and holidays are busy, so book early. February is a good month for birdwatching.
March to May — warm but active
Days get hot, but mornings and evenings on the river are pleasant. Water activities generally continue, and some visitors find wildlife easier to spot as forest cover thins and animals visit water sources.
June to September — monsoon
Heavy rain turns everything green and the waterfalls are at their best, but rafting and other river activities are often restricted, and forest trails get slippery and leech-prone. Choose this season for a quiet, rainy retreat rather than adventure.
A note on rafting
The Kali’s flow is influenced by upstream dams and rainfall, so rafting availability can change from week to week. We check what is operating for your exact dates before you confirm.
